Not much. The GM bailout and Obamacare are the only 2 things that are similar to what Germany did under Hitler. The other similarity is that both are (were) great orators and can tell a lie and have everyone believing them. They both have (had) charisma.

First, a factual point: Hitler’s direct actions resulted in the death of around 50 million, not the relatively paltry figure you use.
And the short answer is: nothing real. However, he has darkish skin, and while he’s actually, in world terms, a moderate conservative, the ultra-right propaganda machine, largely funded by the Koch brothers and other of the most corrupt corporate influences in the United States, used this little lever to ratchet up their baloney attacks, through hack mouthpieces like Hannity, Coulter, Beck, and Limbaugh, so as to portray him in any convenient–albeit entirely FALSE!–manner they chose. Moderate and progressive America dislikes propaganda, especially the vitriolic kind, and has no similar vitriolic hate mongers with whom to respond.
So in a grand sense, what he did to “warrant the comparison” was be to the left of the neo-fascist right and readily identifiable. He also has a name with Islamic roots, and that’s another convenient “lever” that is constantly deployed by depraved elements of the crackpot reactionary movement.
